Primary Speller

[cover]
This little book came from Jenni Bowlin Studios. There is so much vintage goodness in her shop! This was a kit with a few added JBS elements that I had on hand.
[inside cover/pg 2-vintage seed packet reproduction]

[pg 3-decorated back of seed packet with pull tag at top/pg4-decorated back of postcard]
[the pull tag from pg 3]

[pg 5-postcard front/pg 6]

[pg 6 & 7]
[pg 8/pg 9 is a vintage picture frame]
[pg10 & inside back cover]
This is a project that shows up in one of these annoying thumbnails that I ranted about HERE. I changed it up and re-blogged it, in case anyone wanted to actually see it. Plus I love this project and wanted to show it off!!!
~Thanks for the visit, I would love to know what you think~

Hand Loom Weaving

Weaving using a small loom:

I was looking for my loom and when I dug it out, along with my tools I found this; my first hand woven sampler. I took a fiber arts class in college and it was quite fun. This was our first project, hand loom weaving.

There are no mistakes, only different techniques and trials. My tension tended to pull in as I worked downwards, and varied with different fibers. Not bad for the first try though.

Pictures are in order from the top to the bottom of the weaving.
Two rows of texture, or raised work are shown here on the right.

All three of the most textured, or raised work are shown here, at left.

I like the top blue and white area with the wrap best. The green and brown area, at the bottom right, isn't as pretty.

thanks for the visit, please let me know what you think

Three Thirteen and Relaxing Card

I did not like the name of my blog. I created a new blog. Turns out I lost a lot of pictures. These pictures still show up on the You might also like: thumbnails. You click on one. You see a black box. I delete them. Thumbnails are still present. You click one. The message is "Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist". Sorry about that. I know it's a bother. I still don't like the name of my blog. Then it came to me in a dream last night...3 and 13. My two favorite, luckiest numbers.  This is now the name of my blog: Three Thirteen. My address is still, http://creativepapermyway.blogspot.com/, same as it always was, except now I feel better seeing Three Thirteen. Thanks for listening. Here is a soothing card for you:
It's all Stampin' Up, one we made last week at stamp camp. I love the flowers and the sentiment.

Thrifty Find?

Well, they were free for me, and anything free is usually a good thing. Right?
These bowls are marked, "oven ware U.S.A.". I don't know anything about them, except I like them. We inherited them from my husband's grandmother. These are the three in the set.
Here are the large and mid sized bowls, you may remember from my herb post. By the way they will be coming indoors this fall/winter.
I'm holding the small one here in my hand and it is tilted a little funny. They appear to be hand painted, but have a very smooth top coat of some kind. You can see a chip in the smallest bowl above. The painted flowers are in perfect shape and no chips on the top edges or anything.
Here is the bottom, not stamped but hand engraved. Does anyone know anything off hand? I would love to know if anyone has these. I know I could do some research, but thanks if you can help.
One last shot of the dirty bottom of the smallest bowl!!!
